...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR THE GENOA AREA...

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East central Nance County in central Nebraska...

* Until 930 AM CDT.

* At 335 AM CDT, officials from The Loup Power District reported 
  that the Loup River had overtopped an intake structure at the 
  diversion southwest of Genoa. As a result, it is likely that 
  flooding has extended north of Highway 22 and may be threatening 
  especially the south side of Genoa soon. Local law 
  enforcement confirms that an evacuation plan has been enacted for 
  the south side of Genoa. 

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the Genoa area along the Loup 
  River. This a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND 
  NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Genoa...and particularly the south side of town nearest the Loup. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
