The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central Lyon County in west central Nevada...

* Until 930 PM PDT.

* At 705 PM PDT, Radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain 
  redeveloping along SR-338 south of Wellington. Between 2 and 3 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 
  inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring. Flooding has been reported along SR-338 south of 
  Wellington. SR-338 has been reported closed to the CA stateline.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Smith Valley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
