The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of northeast Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the following counties, in northeast Minnesota, Cook and Lake. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer and Washburn. A strong low pressure system will bring snow to the Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin Saturday night. While snow could turn to a rain and snow mix near the Wisconsin and Minnesota stateline during the daylight hours Sunday, significant rainfall is not expected in that time period. The precipitation eastward towards the Upper Michigan and Wisconsin stateline is expected to remain as snowfall, especially within the snowbelts of northwest Wisconsin. As most precipitation remains as either snow or slowly melts after it falls, flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat through Sunday so the Watch is being cancelled. After this next round of snow ends early next week though, another period of potential flooding may again take shape with the expected moderate to heavy and wet snow that falls this weekend melting and creating runoff into area waterways. $$ NLy
