FOR SOUTHWESTERN ALAMANCE...NORTHWESTERN MOORE...SOUTHEASTERN
RANDOLPH...NORTHWESTERN LEE AND CHATHAM COUNTIES...

At 928 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southeast of
Prospect Hill, moving northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Sanford, Pittsboro, Carthage, Siler City, Goldston, Robbins, Staley,
Snow Camp, Gum Springs, and Harpers Crossroads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central North
Carolina.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
