The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Erie from Ripley to Buffalo Harbor...  
  The Upper Niagara River and Buffalo Harbor...

* Until 1130 AM EDT.

* At 926 AM EDT, a line of showers capable of producing waterspouts 
  was located across Lake Erie. This line will slide closer to the 
  shoreline, increasing the risk for waterspouts on the nearshore 
  waters of Lake Erie, including Buffalo Harbor.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas.

* Locations impacted include...
  Van Buren Point, Small Boat Harbor, Lake Erie Beach, Barcelona,
  Woodlawn Beach, Erie Basin Marina, Sturgeon Point, Ripley, Wanakah,
  Dunkirk, Athol Springs, Bayview, and Sunset Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Showers can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily 
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor 
immediately.
