...STRONG WINDS DEVELOPING LATE THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING FOR THE 
FAR EASTERN ALASKA PENINSULA AND KODIAK ISLAND...

Update: As of 5 PM, a High Wind Warning was issued and is in 
effect through 2 AM Sunday morning. Please see the High Wind 
Warning for additional details.

Southerly winds will increase south of Kodiak Island and out of 
the northwest across the southern Alaska Peninsula this afternoon 
as a strong storm system moves northwards towards Kodiak Island. 
As the area of low pressure moves north of Kodiak, winds will 
shift to the southwest, peaking this evening before gradually 
decreasing through Sunday morning. Areas near Chignik and lower
elevations of Kodiak Island, including Kodiak City, could see wind
gusts up to 55 mph.
