...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED ACROSS MARICOPA AND PINAL 
COUNTIES THIS AFTERNOON...

At 1221 PM MST, radar indicated thunderstorms were developing across 
portions of south-central Arizona this afternoon.

Conditions are becoming more favorable for the development of 
additional thunderstorms. Some storms may become strong.

Accumulating pea size hail along with some gusts in excess of 30 mph 
will be possible.

Locations impacted include...
Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Glendale, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Tempe,
Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Casa Grande, Apache
Junction, El Mirage, Florence, Fountain Hills, Paradise Valley,
Coolidge, and Tolleson.

This includes the following highways...
AZ Interstate 10 between mile markers 98 and 202.
AZ Interstate 17 between mile markers 195 and 241.
AZ Interstate 8 between mile markers 104 and 178.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
