...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL KERN COUNTY UNTIL
445 PM PDT...

At 354 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles south of Tehachapi, or 27 miles northwest of Lancaster, moving
south at 5 mph.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this 
storm. Isolated heavy rain is also occuring in this storm, which may 
cause minor flooding.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Kern
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
