...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL MONTEREY COUNTY
THROUGH 1000 AM PST...

At 930 AM PST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a landspout near Gorda, moving north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Landspouts, wind gusts up to 50 mph, and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds 
         could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured 
         objects.

Locations impacted include...
Gorda.

This includes Highway 1 between Mile Markers 2 and 9, and between
Mile Markers 12 and 18.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
