HELENA, NORTHERN TANGIPAHOA AND WASHINGTON PARISHES, WALTHALL, PIKE,
SOUTHEASTERN AMITE AND NORTHERN PEARL RIVER COUNTIES THROUGH 215 PM
CDT
...

At 116 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Tylertown to near Gillsburg. Movement was
southeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Mccomb, Bogalusa, Franklinton, Liberty, Amite City, Magnolia,
Kentwood, Summit, Tylertown, Varnado, Roseland, Osyka, Mount Herman,
Wilmer, Salem, Dexter, Gillsburg, Easleyville, Tangipahoa, and Angie.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 50 and 66.
 Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 20.
 Interstate 59 in Mississippi between mile markers 36 and 42.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
southeastern Louisiana...and southern Mississippi.
