...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern Otero
and northeastern Dona Ana Counties through 1100 PM MST...

At 1015 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5 
miles northwest of White Sands National Park, moving northeast at 
35 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 35 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
White Sands National Park, Northrup Landing, Tularosa, Alamogordo, La
Luz, and Holloman Air Force Base.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 200 and 202, and mile
marker 204 and near mile marker 206.
 Highway 54 in New Mexico between mile markers 70 and 87.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
