A long duration heavy rain event is becoming likely over a large swath of eastern New Mexico beginning Monday lasting through Tuesday. Confidence is growing that this area will stretch from the Sacramento Mountains northeastward through east-central New Mexico. Fast moving storms producing heavy rainfall passing over the same locations repeatedly, as well as storms becoming anchored over the same area of the Sacramento Mountains will raise the threat of flash flooding. Rainfall amounts will vary greatly, but could be upwards of two to four inches over a 24 to 48 hour timeframe. Stay up to date with the latest forecast as it becomes more fine-tuned with timing and location. $$ 24
