Snow accumulations will remain generally light areawide, but slick roads remain possible, especially in the Sierra. Expect brief visibility reductions under passing showers. * A band of heavier showers looks to develop along a line roughly from Truckee to Hawthorne this afternoon/evening, with locally heavier snowfall up to 1-2 inches possible under this band. Increased instability this afternoon may also lead to embedded thunderstorms, with a 15-20% chance generally south of I-80. * Expect showers to taper off overnight, with clearing skies leading to another widespread hard freeze Saturday morning. $$ http://weather.gov/reno
