A weather system, currently off the coast of British Columbia, is expected to move southeast into the southwestern United States on Sunday, then move east and impact the combined Panhandles on Monday into early Tuesday morning. Snow is favored to begin in the northwest combined Panhandles Monday morning with breezy conditions. Winds will strengthen through the day and snow will spread east and southeast. The windiest conditions are favored in the Oklahoma Panhandle and the northern half of the Texas Panhandle where sustained northerly winds are favored to be between 35-40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. The most favored time for the highest winds is between 11 AM to 9 PM Monday, but sustained northerly winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph should persist through Monday night. As such, these winds may occur in conjunction with snow falling, leading to the potential for blowing snow and reduced visibilities. Snow will progressively come to an end Monday night across this area, but in its wake will be wind chills between 0 degrees to -7 degrees. This is an evolving forecast so details will change in the coming days, so please check back for updates. $$
