...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT ZAPATA COUNTY THROUGH 1245 AM
CDT...

At 1153 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Rio Bravo to 14 miles southwest of El
Cenizo to 25 miles west of San Ygnacio. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Zapata, San Ygnacio, Bustamante, Medina, Zapata High School, Zapata
County Fire Department, Zapata Middle School, Siesta Shores, Zapata
County Public Library, and Las Palmas.

This includes US Highway 83 between mile markers 738 and 774.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Brownsville.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
Deep South Texas.
