The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Western Utah County in northern Utah...

* Until 430 PM MDT

* At 343 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near West
  Mountain, or 8 miles west of Payson, moving north at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. 

  SOURCE...Radar indicated. 

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. 

* Locations impacted include...
  Provo, Payson, Orem, Lehi, Spanish Fork, Pleasant Grove,
  Springville, American Fork, Eagle Mountain, Lindon, Santaquin,
  Salem, Elk Ridge, Woodland Hills, Cedar Fort, Vineyard, Brigham
  Young University, Palmyra, Lake Shore and Benjamin.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 15 between mile markers 243 and 281.
 US Route 6 between mile markers 142 and 145, and between mile
markers 154 and 174.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near Utah Lake, get away from the water and move indoors or 
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles 
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close 
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now!  Do not 
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
