The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southern Shenandoah County in northwestern Virginia...
  Central Rockingham County in western Virginia...
  Page County in northwestern Virginia...
  North central Augusta County in western Virginia...
  The City of Harrisonburg in western Virginia...

* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 331 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Basye-Bryce Mountain to Timberville to near
  Bridgewater to 11 miles northwest of Staunton, moving east at 30
  mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches 
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as 
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by 
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. 
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Harrisonburg, Woodstock, Bridgewater, Luray, Broadway, Timberville,
  Shenandoah, Massanutten, Mount Jackson, Stanley, Dale Enterprise,
  Elkton, New Market, Dayton, Edinburg, Mount Crawford, Alma,
  Newport, Honeyville and Penn Laird.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for western and
northwestern Virginia.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
