The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northwestern Monroe County in southwestern Illinois...
  Northwestern St. Clair County in southwestern Illinois...
  Southern St. Louis City in east central Missouri...

* Until 630 PM CDT.

* At 549 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Sappington, moving east at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  St. Louis and East Carondelet around 555 PM CDT.
  Cahokia, Columbia, and Dupo around 600 PM CDT.
  Cahokia Parks Airport around 605 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include
East St. Louis, Centreville, Belleville, Alorton, Fairview Heights,
Caseyville and Washington Park.

This also includes Scott Joplin Historic Site.
 
This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois near exit 9.

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
