* Until 500 PM HST
* At 204 PM HST, radar and rain gages indicated heavy rain over
north Kauai near Wainiha and within the Hanalei River basin. The
Hanalei River water level is expected to rise significantly and is
may reach levels that will result in the closure of Kuhio Highway
near the Hanalei Bridge. Streams and rivers on east Kauai, such as
Wailua River, will also rise and make low water crossings on Loop
Road impassable. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue through
the afternoon hours and may spread westward into the leeward
sections of the island.
* This warning includes the entire island of Kauai.
