The following information is based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. ...SIGNIFICANT/SPECIAL FEATURES... TROPICAL AND MONSOON DISTURBANCES... A circulation is located to the southeast of Yap near 5N142E. A surface trough extends from the circulation to 7N150E. The circulation and low-level convergence west of the circulation is generating spotty convection over Palau and Yap between 3N and 9N from 135E to 145E. Convergence north of the surface trough is producing modest convection over Chuuk between 6N and 10N from 145E to 153E. OTHER FEATURES CAUSING GALE FORCE WINDS OR HAZARDOUS SEAS... Tropical Storm Mawar (02W) located near 24N126E is causing seas between 15 to 20 feet between 22N and 25N from 130E to 135E. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A trade-wind trough combined with upper-level divergence is generating a line of showers and thunderstorms north of Pohnpei and east of the Marianas. Another trade-wind trough is generating modest convection east of Majuro. A third trade-wind trough is producing spotty convection west of the Marianas. ...DISCUSSION... The circulation southeast of Yap will move north to a location east of Yap. Convection will continue over Yap and Chuuk States. Convergence north of the circulation will increase convection over the Marianas. The trade-wind trough east of the Marianas will move west and merge with the convection already over the that area. The trade-wind trough now near Majuro will move west to be located between Kosrae and Majuro in 24 hours. This and a developing ITCZ will cause convection near and north of Kosrae and Majuro. The trade-wind trough west of the Marianas will dissipate in 24 hours. Seas will remain between 15 to 20 feet between 23N and 25N from 130E to 133E as Tropical Storm Mawar moves slowly northward. $$ Ziobro
