A circulation is located to the east of Yap near 6N142E. A surface trough extends from 1N130E through the circulation to 3N144E. Spotty convection is located over Palau and Yap between 3N and 10N from 133E to 143E. Modest convection can be found south of the trough southwest of Chuuk between the equator and 4N from 145E to 153E. OTHER FEATURES CAUSING GALE FORCE WINDS OR HAZARDOUS SEAS... Tropical Storm Mawar (02W) located near 27N129E continues to cause seas between 15 to 20 feet between 22N and 25N from 130E to 135E. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A trade-wind trough combined with upper-level divergence is generating a line of showers and thunderstorms from between Chuuk and Pohnpei and east of the Marianas. ...ITCZ... The ITCZ extends from 160E to 170E up to 9N and is generating convection north of Kosrae and over Majuro. ...DISCUSSION... The circulation east of Yap will move north to a location east of Ulithi. Convection will continue between Yap and Chuuk States. Convergence north of the circulation will increase convection over the Marianas. The trade-wind trough east of the Marianas will move west and merge with the convection already over the that area. The convection southwest of Chuuk and south of the trough will continue. The trade-wind trough east of the Marianas will move west and merge with the convection already over the that area. The ITCZ will move west and extend between 157E to 167E and cause convection over Pohnpei and Kosrae. Trade-wind convergence will continue convection north of Majuro.
