Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Based on the latest guidance, the most likely time period for the heaviest rainfall activity is Friday afternoon into Saturday. The areas most likely to receive the highest rainfall accumulations are portions of the southeast and east sections of Puerto Rico, as well as Vieques, Culebra and the US Virgin Islands. Rainfall accumulations are expected to range from 2 to 4 inches, especially for the eastern half of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands with isolated higher amounts possible between 6 and 8 inches. Elsewhere, 1 to 3 inches are expected. Due to already saturated soils, any prolonged period of heavy rainfall will result in urban and small stream flooding. Some rivers will likely overflow their banks. Therefore, Isolated life threatening flash flooding and mudslides are possible as well. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. && $$
