Flood Watch for the following rivers in Connecticut...Rhode Island...



  Pawcatuck River At Westerly affecting Northern New London, 

  Southern New London and Washington RI zones.



For the Pawcatuck River...including Wood River Junction, Westerly...

flooding is possible.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor 

rising water levels and be prepared for possible flood warnings.



If you are in the watch area, remain alert to possible flooding.

NOTICE...



* WHAT...Flooding is possible.



* WHERE...Pawcatuck River at Westerly.



* WHEN...From late Wednesday night until further notice.



* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Floodwaters approach lowest lying homes 

  along Hiscox Road in Westerly. Along Route 3, flooding occurs at 

  some homes in French Village in Hopkinton.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 12:00 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 6.6 feet.

  - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached early Thursday morning.

  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
