...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM PDT THIS 

AFTERNOON FOR THE 33 CORRIDOR BETWEEN OAK VIEW AND VENTURA CITY...



At 425 PM PDT, Between 0.8 and 1.3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash 

flooding is already occurring. Although heavy rain has ended, life 

threatening flash flooding may continue until around 445 pm.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  The 33 corridor between Oak View and Ventura City



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. 

Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a 

matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
