...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 AM CDT THIS 

MORNING FOR NORTHEASTERN BOND, FAYETTE AND SOUTHEASTERN MONTGOMERY 

COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...



At 436 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 

rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have 

fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Vandalia, Greenville, Hillsboro, Ramsey, Brownstown, Taylor 

  Springs, Coffeen, Mulberry Grove, Schram City, Van Burensburg, 

  Woburn, Shobonier, Reno, Wrights Corner, Pleasant Mound, 

  Pittsburg, Shafter, Panama, Fillmore and Donnellson.



This includes the following State Parks...

	Ramsey Lake State Park.



This includes Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 41 and 68.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
