...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN FREESTONE AND NORTHEASTERN LIMESTONE 

COUNTIES...



At 806 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 

rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have 

fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. Flash 

flooding is already occurring. Emergency management reports multiple 

bridges along Highway 84 have been closed due to high water. 

Emergency management also reported a train derailment near the CR 

456 and CR 460 intersection due to high water.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Emergency management reported.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Mexia, Groesbeck, Teague, Wortham, Coolidge, Fort Parker State 

  Park, Lake Mexia, Tehuacana, Kirvin, Shiloh, Fallon, Cotton Gin 

  and Freestone.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Dangerous flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. Do not attempt 

to travel unless you are fleeing flood waters. If you are in an area 

subject to flooding, move to higher ground now.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
