The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  South Central Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina...

  Central Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...



* Until 1100 AM EST.



* At 755 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 

  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain 

  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 

  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 

  to begin shortly.



  HAZARD...Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



* Some locations that could experience flash flooding include...

  North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, James 

  Island, West Ashley, Daniel Island, Johns Island.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
