The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  Northwestern Jefferson Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

  Southwestern Orleans Parish in southeastern Louisiana...



* Until 600 PM CDT Wednesday.



* At 1154 AM CDT, emergency management reported numerous roads are 

  flooded and impassible in and around Metairie. Flash flooding is 

  already occurring.



  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms

           producing flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.



  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  New Orleans, Metairie, Avondale, Marrero, Jefferson, Harahan, 

  Westwego, Elmwood, River Ridge, Waggaman, Bridge City and New 

  Orleans Armstrong Airport.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
