...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following 

  counties, Northwest Coleman, Runnels and Southern Taylor.



* WHEN...Until 315 PM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 105 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms moving across much of Runnels County. Minor

    flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the

    advisory area, especially of city streets and other poor

    drainage areas,



  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected

    over the area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Winters, Tuscola, Lawn, Novice, Bradshaw, Crews, Hatchel,

    Wingate, Coronados Camp, Happy Valley, Norton, Lake Winters

    Lake, Drasco, Pumphrey, Ovalo, Lake Abilene, Camp Tonkawa,

    Goldsboro, Wilmeth and Shep.

  - This includes the following Low Water Crossings...

    FM 89 crossing Scott Hollow, FM 1086 crossing Red Lake Creek,

    FM 0383 crossing Quarry Creek, FM 89 crossing Elm Creek, FM

    89 crossing Elm Creek, crossings along County Road 227,

    crossings along County Road 226, County Road 322 crossing Big

    Coyote Creek, County Road 328 crossing Big Coyote Creek and

    crossings along County Road 328.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
