...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE 

ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.



* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.



* WHEN...Until 745 AM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 433 AM HST, radar and rain gauges indicated heavy rain

    over the Koolau Mountains in eastern Oahu. Rain was falling

    at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Stream gauges have risen

    rapidly in response to the heavy rainfall.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Waikane, Waiahole, Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Punaluu, Ahuimanu,

    Hauula, Pearl City, Aiea, Halawa, Kaneohe, Laie, Kaneohe

    Marine Base, Moanalua, Kalihi, Maunawili, Kahuku, Kailua,

    Manoa and Waimanalo.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 745 AM HST if flooding 

persists.
