...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM AST MONDAY...



* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Canovanas, Loiza, Luquillo and Rio Grande.



* WHEN...Until 230 AM AST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Water over roadways.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1119 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will

    cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor

    drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory

    area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Rio Grande, Canovanas, Luquillo, Vieques, La Dolores, Hato

    Candal, San Isidro, Campo Rico, Playa Fortuna, Ramos,

    Bartolo, Palmer, Benitez and Lomas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
