...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and 

increased in duration for the following rivers in Indiana...



  Mississinewa River near Ridgeville.



.Rainfall amounts of one inch or more have fallen in northeastern 

portions of central Indiana in the past 24 hours, causing rapid 

rises on the Mississinewa River at Ridgeville. Flooding has occurred 

overnight, with the river reaching moderate flood stage at 

Ridgeville.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING...



* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 

  forecast.



* WHERE...Mississinewa River near Ridgeville.



* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.



* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, State Road 1 south of the intersection 

  with SR 28 in western Randolph County is impassable.  Extensive 

  agricultural flooding in progress.  At least a few county roads 

  flooded including West CR 825 east of SR 1 and West River Road 

  west of SR 1.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 6:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 12.3 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 6:00 AM EDT Thursday was 12.3 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.5

    feet late this morning. It will then fall below flood stage

    just after midnight tonight.

  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
