...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM AST THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following county, 

  Manati.



* WHEN...Until 1145 PM AST Tuesday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams 

  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. 

  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be 

  passable. Particularly along Rio Grande de Manati, and its 

  tributaries.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 253 PM AST, Doppler radar and automated river gauges

    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is

    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.

    Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

  - This includes the following streams and drainages...

    Rio Grande de Manati, Rio Morovis, Rio Cibuco_Coastal

    Watershed and Coastal Watershed.

    Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in

    the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Barceloneta and La Luisa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...AVISO DE INUNDACIONES EN EFECTO HASTA LAS 1145 PM AST DE ESTA 

NOCHE...



* QUÉ...Se esperan inundaciones en el área urbana y en riachuelos 

causados por la lluvia excesiva.



* DÓNDE...Corozal, Vega Alta y Vega Baja.



* CUÁNDO...Hasta las 1145 PM AST.



* IMPACTOS...Las inundaciones de ríos, arroyos y otros 

lugares bajos y propensos a inundaciones son inminentes o están 

ocurriendo. Los arroyos continúan aumentando debido a un exceso de 

escorrentía de lluvia anterior. Los cruces en aguas bajas están 

inundados con agua y pueden no ser pasables. Particularmente a lo 

largo de Río Cibuco, Río Indio y sus afluentes.



* DETALLES ADICIONALES...

  - A las 251 PM AST, radar Doppler y pluviómetros automatizados

  indicó lluvia fuerte debido a tormentas eléctricas. Las 

  inundaciones están ocurriendo o se espera que comiencen pronto en el 

  área bajo aviso. Hasta 2 pulgadas de lluvia han caído.

  - Cantidades de lluvia adicionales de hasta 1 pulgada son posibles 

  en el área advertida.





MEDIDAS DE PRECAUCIÓN/PREPARACIÓN...



Vire, no se ahogue cuando se encuentre con carreteras inundadas. La 

mayoría de las muertes relacionadas con inundaciones ocurren en 

vehículos.
