Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 759 PM AST, Emergency management reported flooding from Rio de la Plata along portions of road PR-2, and it is currently affecting La Virgencita bridge. PR-2 was closed around km 22.8 in Dorado. The river gage TOAP4 at Dorado indicated that the river is close to major flood stage, at the current level of 22.5 ft, Barrio Chorro de Maguayo is flooded and Rio Lajas is out of its banks. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio de la Plata, Rio Cibuco, and tributaries. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
