...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT SUNDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by recent heavy rainfall continues.



* WHERE...A portion of Big Bend Florida, including the following 

  county, Leon.



* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Several roads remain closed due to ongoing flooding.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 144 PM EDT, Leon County Emergency Management reports

    continued flooding in the Capitola, Chaires, and Baum

    communities in eastern Leon County from recent heavy

    rainfall. Several roads remain closed and are impassable as

    water levels are nearly stagnant or rising slightly.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Tallahassee, Chaires, St. Marks Headwaters Greenway,

    Capitola, Chaires Crossroads, Apalachee Regional Park and

    Ralford Greenway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Do not attempt to bypass a barricade or other road closure sign. The 

water in these areas is too deep for your car to pass safely. 

Choosing to drive into a flooded road puts your life in danger!



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
