...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following 

  county, Marshall.



* WHEN...Until 1045 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Expect areas of slow moving or standing water. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 851 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain occurred

    earlier this morning due to thunderstorms. Flooding is

    ongoing on some flood-prone roads in the warned area. Between

    1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in

    the warned area this morning. Conditions are expected to

    improve before additional heavy rain moves this afternoon and

    evening.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Benton, Calvert City, Hardin, Brewers and Aurora.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
