####018002607#### FNUS28 KWNS 272145 FWDD38 Day 3-8 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0443 PM CDT Sat Mar 27 2021 Valid 291200Z - 041200Z A cold front will extend from a strong surface low in southern Canada at the beginning of the period. This cold front will move across the central CONUS through the first half of the week which will bring windy conditions and fire weather concerns. A mid-level ridge will build into the western CONUS for the second half of the week and into next weekend which should mostly alleviate fire weather concerns expect for far northern Montana where some downslope flow is possible. ...Day 3/Monday - Northern Plains to the Central and Southern High Plains... A broad area of elevated to critical fire weather conditions will be possible from the northern Plains southward to eastern Colorado and into the southern High Plains. These strong winds will primarily be associated with a strengthening pressure gradient. Drier relative humidity will be more questionable in northern portions of this area across the Dakotas, but this is where winds are expected to be strongest and therefore 40 percent probabilities have been maintained and expanded from D4. Farther south, the best chance for critical conditions will be in eastern Colorado southward into the TX/OK Panhandles and eastern New Mexico. In this area, widespread 10 to 20 percent relative humidity will likely be present during the afternoon and winds are expected to strengthen from a combination of a tightening pressure gradient, increasing low-level jet, and downslope flow. ...D4/Tuesday - Southeast Arizona into portions of southern New Mexico and Far West Texas... On Tuesday, strong mid level flow is expected to overspread dry surface conditions in portions of the Southwest and southern High Plains. A cold front will likely extend from central Arizona to central New Mexico. Deep mixing south of this front should bring strong surface winds to the surface during the afternoon hours. Therefore, critical fire weather conditions are likely. ...D6/Thu - Northern Montana... Models are consistent showing the potential for downslope flow in the lee of the Rockies in northern Montana. This would likely result in critical fire weather conditions for portions of northern Montana. 40 percent probabilities have been added for now given inconsistencies which still exist among the models. ..Bentley.. 03/27/2021 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov/fire for graphic product... $$ ####018000685#### FNUS38 KWNS 272145 PFWF38 DAY 3-8 FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK AREAL OUTLINE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 0443 PM CDT SAT MAR 27 2021 VALID TIME 291200Z - 041200Z FIRE WEATHER OUTLOOK POINTS DAY 3-8 ...
