On Thursday, a deepening cyclone will move into the Great Lakes with significant wetting rain across much of the eastern CONUS. Dry/northerly flow is expected in the Plains. Moderate to strong mid-level flow will overspread this region which will support 20 to 25 mph surface winds and relative humidity around 20 percent. Fuels have started to dry across southeast Nebraska and northern Kansas where minimal precipitation has fallen over the past 2 weeks.
