For today, windier behind a cold front that moved thru early this morning with winds shifting to the west then northwest by the afternoon. Highest gust around 40 mph would be along and west of the Red River Valley, with gusts to 35 mph east of the valley. RH values will vary due to cooling temperatures and increasing cloud cover with lowest values south of the front in the mid 30% range but in the 50-60% range behind the front where it remain cloudier. Near critical fire weather conditions are still expected in forested areas of north central MN today. Tuesday will also be windy, with occasional gusts to 30 mph. Temperatures should be milder and RH values may range from 35% (central Red River Valley) to the 40-50% range elsewhere. For mid to late week RH values will lower into the 30 to 45 percent range across the area. This may require an expansion of near critical fire weather wording into the rest of the area.
