####018059557#### FNUS55 KCYS 181702 FWFCYS Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY 1102 AM MDT Sat Jul 18 2026 HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT MONDAY HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON SUNDAY TO 6 PM MDT MONDAY .DISCUSSION... Temperatures will remain warm as the upper level ridge looks to remain seated over the desert southwest/Intermountain West. This ridge will create light to marginal winds in the afternoon. Some areas may see gusts up to 25 mph but most areas will see gusts between 15 and 20 mph. There is a pool of moisture that remains over our section of the Intermountain West looks to keep RH percentages between 16 and 25 for most areas with a couple isolated areas that may drop below 15 percent for a short period of time. Daily nocturnal inversions look to be strong enough to limit smoke dispersal overnight between 06z to 12z but as we start to reconnect to the boundary layer during the morning we should see decent improvement. Over the next few days there will be some shortwaves pushing through the area however nothing is expected to make it east of I-25 until really Monday afternoon. However, there may be a chance Sunday afternoon to make it to Cheyenne but theres not a lot of confidence in that as the forcing seems pretty weak.
