####018058510#### FNUS53 KLOT 100920 FWFLOT Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL 320 AM CST Tue Feb 10 2026 .DISCUSSION... A cold front will sweep through northern IL and northwest IN this morning resulting in breezy northwest winds in its wake. Gusts with these winds are expected to be around 25-30 mph through this afternoon. Otherwise, expect mostly dry and mild conditions to prevail through the week with highs in the upper 30s to 40s each day, few places could even tag 50 at times. Our next chance for precipitation is not expected until Thursday and Thursday evening as a disturbance pivots through. However, uncertainty remains as to eastward extent of this precipitation so current forecast does keep highest chances (20-30%) near and west of I-39. That said, precipitation with this event looks to fall as a rain-snow mix given the modest surface temperatures but a period of snow is possible especially if temperatures cool sufficiently.
