Mixing heights will get a small boost from the warmer surface temperatures, but the combination of climatologically-low mixing heights to start and warming air aloft will result in poor smoke dispersion. Regardless, RH values just lee of the Ozarks will fall into the mid-30s with low to mid-40s everywhere else. A cold front approaches the region overnight Monday and crosses through on Tuesday. While not drastically colder, it will bring temperatures down about 10 degrees in some places compared to Monday. Rain chances are decreased compared to previous forecasts on Tuesday, with only a 30% chance for a wetting rain across southeast and south-central Missouri. Mainly dry and seasonably warm weather stays in place until early Friday, when a few more chances for rain arrive. There is the potential for a more widespread wetting rain (30-40%) areawide by Saturday, though the exact speed and track of this system is still largely uncertain.
