In areas that don't see rain, cloud cover keeps humidity up around 50 to 60 percent, except for far northeast Nebraska where less cloud cover will allow humidity to drop to 35 to 45 percent. Winds will also remain light today with variable directions across the area, generally out of the east across southeast Nebraska and generally out of the south over northeast Nebraska and western Iowa. Sunday we're seeing increasing risk for very high fire danger across northeast Nebraska where southwest winds are now forecast to gust 20 to 25 mph during the afternoon. With gusty winds and humidity dropping to 25 to 30 percent in the afternoon, we could see very high fire danger develop.
