####018024626#### FNUS54 KSHV 092036 FWFSHV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas... Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma National Weather Service Shreveport LA 236 PM CST Mon Feb 9 2026 .DISCUSSION... Very warm and increasingly humid conditions are expected across the region Tuesday, with low clouds increasing from the south late this evening through the overnight hours. Some patchy fog can not be ruled out Tuesday morning across portions of Central Louisiana before lifting by mid-morning. Given the deepening low level flow/moisture, a mostly cloudy sky Tuesday will yield slightly lower afternoon temperatures, but min RH's will be notably higher as they range from 50-55%. The approach of a weakening upper level disturbance Tuesday night will yield isolated to widely scattered showers mainly over portions of extreme Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas, before shifting farther south along a weak cold front Wednesday. However, rainfall amounts will remain quite light, only up to several hundreths of an inch expected. While slightly cooler air will build south across areas north of I-20 Wednesday, a warming trend will again commence Thursday as southerly low level winds return, aiding in additional low level moisture return ahead of the next upper level disturbance that will approach the region from the west late Friday into Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms will increase areawide ahead of this system, which should result in 1-2+ inch amounts before diminishing Sunday morning, allowing cooler and drier air to spill back south into the region for late weekend into early next week.
