Scattered showers and a least the potential for a few thunderstorms continues through the afternoon mainly in northwest MN. Higher humidity values today lower any potential impacts for fire weather, with variable wind direction/speed as a front move from ND through northwest MN this evening. Winds behind the front from the northwest may periodically gusts around 25 mph mainly along and west of the Red River Valley late this afternoon. The potential for more clearing and warmer temperatures should allow for RH values around or lower than 40% where temperatures warm to near 80 (better chances in the southern Red River Valley). Surface high pressure will be lingering and peak winds from the northwest should generally remain 10-20 mph. Periodic thunderstorm chances are forecast for Monday into Tuesday and again late next week, however coverage and evolution of this activity remains more uncertain, with lower predictability on wetting rain or thunderstorm impacts. There is at least some potential for strong to severe thunderstorms along and south of I-94 Monday afternoon.
