####018046377#### FNUS54 KLCH 062012 FWFLCH Fire Weather Planning Forecast National Weather Service Lake Charles LA 312 PM CDT Mon May 6 2024 .DISCUSSION... Areas of fog will continue to expand across the region early this morning, but will dissipate by 14Z. Winds will gradually increase through the day in response to a deepening low across the central plains with 15 knots gusting to 25 by this afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across parts of interior Southeast Texas and central Louisiana this afternoon before dissipating early this evening. While these storms are not expected to be severe, they will be capable of periods of heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning. Elevated winds overnight should prevent any fog formation into Tuesday morning. No precipitation is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with isolated storms possible Thursday into Thursday night with the passage of a cold front that will bring cooler, drier air into the region Friday through the weekend.
