Southwest winds tonight through Wednesday as a broad low pressure of 29.8 inches forms along the US-Canadian border. A second, stronger area of low pressure will develop over the southern Great Plains on Wednesday, deepening to near 29.4 inches as it approaches the Ohio River early Thursday morning. Winds will shift to the northeast and become gusty with gusts up to 30 kts Thursday. Increasing winds are expected Thursday night into Friday as the surface low deepens to near 28.9 inches over Lake Huron. Widespread gusts exceeding 30 knots are expected during this time period, with embedded gales possible on Friday morning, afternoon, and evening. Trends will continue to be monitored over the coming forecasts, with headlines possible should confidence continue to increase. Gusts will begin to decrease late Friday night into Saturday morning.
