A 29.8 inch trough remains over western Lake Superior tonight. Meanwhile, a 29.5 inch low pressure over the lower Mississippi Valley today deepens to 29.2 inches while tracking northeast toward Lake Huron by late Thursday evening. A considerable pressure gradient is forecast across Lake Superior Thursday night and Friday as the low pressure makes it's closest approach. By Friday evening, ridging at 30.0 inches builds across western Lake Superior then shifts east across the entire Saturday. Ridging shifts east Saturday night as a broad 29.7 inch low pressure moves across the Upper Midwest. This low pressure brushes the lower Great Lakes Sunday before brief 29.9 inch high pressure returns to the region Monday.
