####018007878#### FZUS63 KMKX 111400 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 900 AM CDT Thu Apr 11 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... The surface low deepening to around 28.9 inches passing northeastward through Toronto on Friday morning makes for a challenging wind forecast. Have higher confidence in seeing northwesterly gale force gusts across the northern third of Lake Michigan, thus the area is under a Gale Warning for early Friday morning through Friday afternoon. The southern two thirds of Lake Michigan remain under a Gale Watch for this same timeframe, and may need an upgrade to a Gale Warning if confidence increases. Winds will gradually weaken later Friday night into the weekend as the low tracks northeast into Quebec. Then broad area of high pressure around 30.0 inches will fill in behind this system for Saturday before a weak area of low pressure around 29.7 inches moves across the middle of Lake Michigan on Sunday.
