A shortwave trough moved through the Pac NW and into NE NV overnight into today. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible mainly over NE NV today. Freezing levels around 5000-6000 ft over nrn NV today. Precipitation amounts generally a tenth of an inch or less with local amounts up to half an inch. High pressure builds over the Eastern Pacific off the west coast on Wednesday with a low centered over the north central U.S. with a trough over most of the western U.S. Another low forms over Srn NV as the trough splits and high pressure builds into the Pac NW Thursday the high pressure pushes into CA Friday into Saturday pushing the low to the east and into the four corners region Sunday. This will bring warmer temperatures and mainly dry conditions. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible through the week and into the weekend, mainly over NE NV Wednesday and over Srn Sierra and Srn CA mtns Thursday and Srn Sierra and into Srn NV on Friday and Saturday and over the NE CA plateau and along the Sierra on Sunday. Freezing levels rise to 7000 ft and higher over NV on Wednesday and 9000 ft and higher Thursday and to 10000 ft and higher Friday into the weekend. Max temperatures near normal to around 20 degrees below normal (coldest in NE NV) today warm to near normal to 15 degrees above normal over Nrn and Central CA and near normal to 10 degrees below normal over Srn CA and most of NV Thursday afternoon and near normal to 15 degrees normal across the region Friday into the weekend.
